![]() ![]() We all know how this story ended and how humiliating and costly it must have been both for WB and for Christopher Nolan who pushed to release their 300 million juggernaut during a moment of respite between infection waves. The premiere was shifted and moved multiple times as Paramount refused to gamble the way WB did with Tenet, at the time touted as the saviour of cinemas knocked to their knees by widespread and wholesale societal shutdowns. ![]() ![]() We’ve been waiting patiently for the release of Top Gun: Maverick for two years now, as it became the last of the big movies affected by the COVID pandemic. And it doesn’t look like the world is ready to move on. We are halfway through 2022 and over a decade into what I can only describe as the ‘nostalgiacene’ epoch of blockbuster evolution. ![]()
